Negros Island - Mambukal Resort
What is it ?
Mambukal Resort in Murcia, Negros Occidental is one of the most popular mountain resorts in the Philippines. At 1,200 meters above sea level, it is also one of the highest mountain resorts in the area. Most filipinos get here for a week end family trip. You can enjoy natural hot springs, a waterfall trekking (2 hours), relaxing in the wild or at the swimming pool.
In the Mambukal resort you will enjoy watching 5 different species of bats.
The best location is the hot spring area where you are literally surrounded by them.
There is 10.000 bats (local people call them also lying foxes) on the site. Some of them are living during the day and sleeping at night which change my vision I had on the basic bat.
Mambukal resort is full on the week end, so if you plan to go there on a Saturday or Sunday you must book an accommodation before.
Otherwise, you still can spend the day there but for sure you will miss the hot spring overnight (they close at ten). The best option is to book in advance if you wanna visit the site during the week-end or the local holidays. Mambukal resort and park is a famous local destination in Negros Island.
If you have a small budget, you can sleep in the camping area as I did. For 400PHP you have a night in a nice tent.
