A good start : What to do before travelling and what to bring with you

Before Departure is one of the most stressful part. It was for me. I read a lot of blog and forum and a lot of advises for what to bring with me.

I focus myself in a first time to manage my flight booking. Indeed, if you know before leaving visa you have to pay and visa you have for free and for how long that could helps you to manage your trip.

For french people you a-have a free 30 days visa for Thailand and a 2 weeks free visa for Vietnam. That's could helps a lot during your trip to get this information before departure.

I read somewere that in Asia it will be difficult to find a proper internet connection. That was bullshit. In most places (most touristics places) you will have a wifi connection everywere you go.

My advice before departure is :

- Checking you vaccines

- Take with you some ID pic for visas

- Check with your bank in order to tell them that you will be a long time out of your country. Most of them offers services for customers and when your bank know that you are away they could help you faster if you need it. You can manage with them if you could have with you a Visa card or a Mastercard (depends of the country you want to go because some ATM doesn't accept Visa or Mastercard cards)

- Take your time to select the travel inssurance the most appropriate to your travel. I choose Chapka which is a cheap and good one for travelers

- Make a budget. Of course that will be an estimation but still, it will help you to manage your money

- Take a copy with you (on a Usb disk) of all the papers you may need in your trip. Keep a copy at home or on internet (in a mail box or in a system like dropbox). Take a paper copy with you as well of this papers (could be useful if you need to justify insurance before going to the hospital or anything else)

- Ask for the international driving license. It takes two weeks in France to get it.
