Where to stay & Where to eat/hang out :

In Manila

• Wanderers Guesthouse : A really good balance. 350PHP for a night in a dorm with fan and 400PHP in a dorm with air conditioned. They provide also private double rooms. A nice area to chill and meet travelers. The food is correct if you choose fruit plate or musesli, otherwise, I advise you to eat outside.

• Twonhouse Hostel : 500PHP private room with shared bathroom. Clean, welcoming. Close to the airport – perfect place if you are in transit or if you have a night to spend in Manila before your return flight.

In Puerto Princesa

• Puerto Backpackers Bayview Guesthouse : Double or twin room for 700PHP – nice place to chill out, bamboo tables outside and nice garden. I only spend one night here before leaving Puerto Princesa for El Nino

In El Nido

• Aexzus Backpackers hostel – 800PHP for a room

• Francisco Inn – 600PHP for a room (my favorite)

• Hakuna Matata – 500PHP for a room

• Little Italy : really good Italian food – amazing pizza – the chef was living and working in Italy for few years. I reccomanded it !

• Reggea Puka Bar : place to eat and drink. Good burgers and Burritos. Live reggea music at night

• Makulay Bar and Restaurant : A peace place to stay. Expensive if you have a small budget but they organize live concerts and free outside movies and the beer is 60PHP

In Cebu :

• Cebu Guesthouse : 350PHP for a dorm. They have female and male dorm. Nice place to stay, cheap, perfect for limited budget.

In Bohol :

• Casa Nova : 600PHP for a double room in bungalow. Nice place, peacefull, welcoming family. Perfect place to stay

• Calypso Resort : 790 PHP for a double room with a scooter included in the package.

In Apo Island :

• H&H Guesthouse :  300PHP for one double room.  A local guesthouse built in wood around trees. There you will be mixed with the local people from Apo village. The comfort is really basic (no shower, only water in a big bowl) and there is not that much intimacy but even in the more expensive resort on the pier the acces to the water is the same. I liked this lovely place. I had the feeling to be a member of the fisherman village for few days and that’s exactly what I like to feel when traveling.

• Liberty lodge : 2000PHP for one double room food included (but not drinks)

In Bacolod :

• Bacolod Pension : 260 PHP room for one and  320 PHP room for two people

In Banaue :

• People’s Lodge: Double room with private bathroom 500PHP

• Halfway House : Double room shared bathroom 600PHP

You can eat in people’s lodge but the food is much better in Halway House. Otherwise you still have the public market where you can find fruits and rice.

In Sagada :

• Davey’s Inn : Double Room shared bathroom 600PHP
