Where to stay & Where to eat in LAOS

Places to stay and restaurants I tried. This is below my best plans for a good trip in Laos. For some cities I don't have the name of the restaurant of place I eat in beaucause most of the time I choosed on the street the local kitchen or restaurant and not all of them have a name. This is always a good choice to follow your instinct and go where the local people are.

In Vientiane:

SG Sport Guesthouse : 100.000 KIP one double room – no dorms – clean and quiet.
Lao Garden : best pad thai in Vientiane. Welcoming and peaceful. If you have to try a laap, this a the perfect place for it.
In the street : Along the Mekong, close to the night market the Dim Sum are really tasty for 4.000 KIP each.

In Luang Phrabang :

On Wat That Road (clean rooms, welcoming family and restaurant) 100.000 KIP one night breakfeast included. -> Next guesthouse after LPQ Backpakers
Dyen sabai Restaurant & bar : quiet place for a Lao Barbecue
La Casa Lao : beautiful mix beetwen Lao and spanish kitchen. Address: 60/04 Sisavangvong road
La Pistoche : swiming pool and bar : happy hours from noon to 7pm
In the street : In front of tourism office and night market do not miss the amaizing fruits shakes and sandwichs.

In Thakhek :

Mekong Hotel : 100.000 KIP one night, really hot water and clean rooms.
The black coffee : my favorite green curry in Laos. Cheap, tasty and excellent service
Sabaidee Thakhek restaurant : Welcoming an healthy restaurant. Live music on the evening.

In Paksé :

Sabaidy 2 Guesthouse : cheapest prices in town. 70.000 KIP one night in double room.
Pakse hotel : high prices but wonderful sunset view on the rooftop. You can go on the evening on the rooftop for a Beer Lao and enjoying the Sunset.

In Don Det - 4000 Islands :

Phetmany’s Guesthouse restaurant and bar : 50.000 KIP for a private bungalow
Mama Than restaurant : Big pancakes and big plates for average prices. The curry soup is wonderful, the chicken burger tasty.
Jungle bar : best coconut shakes and Lemon/mint shakes in Don Det - Guesthouse service with bugalow for 30.000 KIP/night
Sangrila Bar : homemade ice cream and nice place to chill in the south of the island.
